Inlays are an excellent and conservative
way to protect, strengthen, and preserve tooth structure.
Inlays can be made from gold alloys, pressed composite
materials, or porcelain. Inlays are used to provide
a strong replacement for large weakened fillings in
posterior teeth and replacement of broken corners of
teeth. Porcelain and composite inlays are a wonderful
way to esthetically replace large fillings in weakened
teeth when full crowns are not needed. They are also
an excellent non-metal alternative for patients desiring
to keep their teeth metal free.
