By 1981, Dr. Gene
had completed over 600 special curriculum hours of continuing
education and passed an extensive exam toward his fellowship
in the Academy of General Dentistry. In 1982 he was granted
the distinguished honor of Fellow of the Academy of General
Dentistry. Dr. Gene and his team's more recent studies have
been in the area of modern cosmetic dentistry, improved use
of high-tech equipment, and micro dentistry. These are the
newest and more complex areas of change and improvement in
the comprehensive delivery of dental care in the 21st Century.
In 2000 and 2002 he completed 3 day courses in anterior and
posterior esthetics at the Nash Institute in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Gene was one of 300 dentists invited to
attend the founding meeting of the World Congress of Microdentistry.
This honor was bestowed on Dr. Stutsman because of his studies
and work in the area of micro dentistry. Dr. Gene became a
founding and life member of the World Congress of Microdentistry.
In 2002 he passed the necessary testing and presented a clinical
case on air abrasion to become a Fellow of the World Congress
of Microdentistry.
In 2003 Dr. Gene and his clinical staff completed
a hands-on program in esthetic make-overs and reconstruction.
This was directed by some of the top esthetic dentists in
the country through the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum Educational
Program. As a graduate of the PAC Live program, Dr. Gene and
his staff are able to provide improved aesthetics in smile
design and restoration for interested patients. Aesthetic
make-overs have become more prevalent with the awareness provided
through ABC's Extreme Make Over. Dr. Bill Dorfman of Extreme
Make Over was one of the founders of PAC Live.

Dr. Gene and his wife, Ann, reside on the Stutsman
family farm and have three children. Their youngest, Kimberly,
was a leap-year baby in 1984. She is studying to be a dental
hygienist. Jeremy and his wife, Maija, are graduates of Butler
University and live in Goshen. Jeremy keeps busy remodeling
downtown storefronts and second floor apartments; and Maija
runs an Maple City Antique Mall from one of their restored
store sites in Goshen. Chad and his wife, Danielle, are both
graduates of Butler University and IU School of Dentistry.
Dr. Chad and Dr. Danielle have joined Goshen Cosmetic and
Advanced Family Dentisty. Dr. Stutsman and his wife are members
of First United Methodist Church of Goshen where he shares
his musical talent as a member of the choir and men's quartet.
Dr. Stutsman enjoys piloting all types of aircraft.
He is rated in single-engine aircraft as well as hot-air balloons.
He has a commercial hot-air balloon license and gives rides
in his 6- passenger balloon as well as training for balloon
pilots. Jeremy and Chad both have their balloon pilots license
and the Stutsman women help with crew and chase responsibilities. |
